"Enchanted Sleeping Beauty"
Each year here at Immanuel, the Theater Guild (that's what it was called back in the day) produces two presentations, a musical, recently moved to the first semester, and during the second semester a play. This year's musical Enchanted Sleeping Beauty was a big hit. The faculty advisor, Joel Gullerud, shared some resources (below) that will give you a good idea of how well the cast and new director, Rachel Rosendahl, did in preparing and presenting.

What you won't see are some of the improvisations that occur each year, some spontaneous and some traditional. The Director began the improv by added sections to the presentation that acknowledged the folks behind the scenes like the backstage people, the lights controller, and sound guys, actually adding scenes in which those folks starred. The director also shared a few:
- Someone found a stick horse and added it to a scene.
- During this renaissance setting, a light saber duel broke out.
- A selection of swords found taped into a coat increased by five the second night.
- One of the combatants shouted, "I am Batman" in reference to the Dark Knight.
- The three kind witches appeared sixteen years later. A comment from one of them was, " And we're still wearing the same dresses.
- The senior sound guy made the annual cameo involving a broom as he marched across the stage.
- One player "bribed" the director with a million dollar bill so she would allow him to modify the saxaphone scene.
- One character's persona went from a proper chamberlain to a sleepy official with a night cap on.
