SERT
S.E.R.T.
This odd acronym stands for something we hope we won't need often but is something we think may be helpful down the road. SERT, or Safety Emergency Response Team, is a group of five faculty members who have been trained to respond to safety or injury events that occur on campus. The training consists of a review of AED, First Aid, and CPR practices. When students notice an unsafe situation on campus or need help with something that does not require an immediate 911 call, there is a special number to call which will go to the members of SERT. The number is posted in all the buildings along with instructions. Whichever member(s) is available will respond and offer whatever help they can which will include calling 911 when necessary. The prayer is that SERT won't need to be very active and that, when they are, the Lord will be with all involved.
