Formal Dinner 2025 If you weren't aware of this fall event at Immanuel, think Spring Banquet just at a different place and time. There will likely be many pictures of the students shared in various ways, but you don't usually get to see what goes into an event of this nature. This year the Formal fell on November 22 but preparations began several weeks earlier as the Activities Committee debated themes, menu, table decorations, photo op spots, and entertainment for the entire student body. The faculty and staff and spouses jumped on board as the wait staff and assisted Chef Dave Rodebaugh and his wife Becky as they prepared an amazing meal to fit the "Rio" theme. Those present were treated to chicken/pineapple kabobs, mixed vegetables, rice, and pineapple upside down cake. The dishwashing crew chief, Jeff Schierenbeck, relayed that almost every plate was returned clean of food; a testament to the expertise of Dave and Becky. "Enchanted Sleeping Beauty"

Each year here at Immanuel, the Theater Guild (that's what it was called back in the day) produces two presentations, a musical, recently moved to the first semester, and during the second semester a play. This year's musical Enchanted Sleeping Beauty  was a big hit.  The faculty advisor, Joel Gullerud, shared some resources (below) that will give you a good idea of how well the cast and new director, Rachel Rosendahl, did in preparing and presenting. The Director began the improv by added sections to the presentation that acknowledged the folks behind the scenes like the backstage people, the lights controller, and sound guys, actually adding scenes in which those folks starred.
