What's Happening at Immanuel?

The Activities Committee really hit one out of the park with Fall Party 2025. It was held Saturday, October 18 and was very well organized and attended. The activities were unique but the Committee members did a great job of explaining and demonstrating, when necessary. The games included Pumpkin Olympics, Guess the Object, Pumpkin Tic-Tac-Toe, Costume Dress Up, Pictionary, and many more. You can see pictures and videos of some of the activities at Leah Thompson's album . Evenings like this can get pretty wild but my hat was off to both the Committee as well as the students in attendance who were very well behaved while still having a great time. A big hit were the many snacks, drinks, and carmel apples provided by Eau Claire Messiah members and Crazy Fresh produce. A hearty shout-out to all who made this event successful.

  S.E.R.T. This odd acronym stands for something we hope we won't need often but is something we think may be helpful down the road. SERT, or Safety Emergency Response Team, is a group of five faculty members who have been trained to respond to safety or injury events that occur on campus. The training consists of a review of AED, First Aid, and CPR practices. When students notice an unsafe situation on campus or need help with something that does not require an immediate 911 call, there is a special number to call which will go to the members of SERT. The number is posted in all the buildings along with instructions. Whichever member(s) is available will respond and offer whatever help they can which will include calling 911 when necessary. The prayer is that SERT won't need to be very active and that, when they are, the Lord will be with all involved.

  Newcomers' Party Each year a party is held fairly early in the semester to attempt to acquaint the students with each other, especially the new students. Thus the Newcomers' Party to which all are invited. This year we had three-fourths of student body attending. The Activities Committee planned some pretty fun games like Rock, Paper, Scissors (above), Name Drop, Name Tag Guessing, Newcomers' Bingo, Minute-to-Win It games, and ending with Freshman Gladiator.
